The Smart Brush lets you bounce your strokes over an image in a way that you can’t from a traditional brush. It works best for applying artistry that you couldn’t achieve with other tools.

What It Does: The Crop tool is a rectangle of pixels composed of four side sides: Left, right, top & bottom; this rectangle is then used to crop your image, removing any unwanted pixels to make it fit exactly on the canvas. When your image is cropped, reducing the size of the pixels results in cropping down into empty space. Cropping up, as with the Crop tool, increases the size of the pixels.

What It Does: The Spot healing tool can be used to undo small blemishes by bringing them back together on your image. It’s like the Healing Brush tool, except it requires just one hit. You can also use the Spot Healing tool on a color area to quickly create a new background color.

Photoshop Elements is a powerful and straightforward set of tools for editing digital photographs. It allows you to retouch and repair images, add special effects, and even turn them into photo books and CD labels.

The new software is now almost exactly the same as the full version of the application, except that it has been split into two versions, one for professionals, the other for non professionals which, while still a powerful software, bundles a bunch of features that can be found in cheaper products.

Press the Backstage button, and you get all of the options grouped together. If you have a layer open, you get a preview of how the filter will look on that layer. If you have any Adjustments applied to the layer, you get a preview. To begin editing, click the point on the line that’s closest to the curve type.
